Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of ExploreLX (“ExploreLX”, “we”, “our”, “us”), a subscription-based IT leadership training service operated from the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use ExploreLX.
1. The service
ExploreLX gives IT leaders a single place to learn, stay current, and keep developing. It includes structured micro-learning programmes, daily insights and trend content, and related features delivered through the web and progressive web application.
We may update, improve, or change parts of the service at any time. If a change materially reduces what you’re paying for, we’ll tell you in advance and give you a reasonable option to cancel.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use ExploreLX. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything done under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@explorelx.app.
3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
Plans
ExploreLX offers a Free plan (IT Leadership Essentials — 8 modules, 32 lessons) and a paid Pro plan. Current pricing is shown on our pricing page. Prices include any applicable UK VAT unless otherwise stated.
Trial
Pro subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial unless otherwise indicated at checkout. We won’t charge your payment method during the trial. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid plan at the then-current price.
Billing
Paid subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you chose. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on each renewal until you cancel.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time from your account settings or the Stripe-hosted billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you’ll keep Pro access until then. We don’t pro-rate refunds for partial periods.
Your statutory rights
If you’re a UK consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. By starting to use paid content during the trial or immediately after purchase, you may lose the statutory 14-day cooling-off period for digital services — we’ll flag this at checkout.
4. Acceptable use
When you use ExploreLX, please don’t:
- share your account with anyone else, or use credentials that aren’t yours;
- copy, redistribute, scrape, or resell our content, whether in whole or in part;
- use the service to build a competing product;
- attempt to interfere with the service, bypass access controls, or probe for security issues without written permission;
- use the service to send spam, harass others, or break the law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
5. Content and intellectual property
All lessons, frameworks, images, and written content on ExploreLX are owned by us or our licensors and protected by UK and international copyright law. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for your own professional development.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a royalty-free, worldwide licence to use them to improve the service, with no obligation to compensate you.
6. Service availability
We aim to keep ExploreLX available and responsive, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. From time to time we’ll take the service down for maintenance or to roll out changes. We’ll try to schedule planned downtime at off-peak hours.
7. Limitation of liability
ExploreLX is an educational service. The content is general in nature and is not a substitute for professional advice specific to your organisation, role, or situation. Decisions you make based on ExploreLX content are your own.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the service is limited to the total amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that can’t be limited under UK law.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately, though any terms that by their nature should survive (including sections 5, 7, and 9) will continue to apply.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes arising from or related to these terms or the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you’re a UK consumer in which case you may be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If the change is material, we’ll email you or show a prominent notice in the app before it takes effect. Continued use of ExploreLX after a change means you accept the updated terms.
